Council of Owners candidates

Owners thinking about standing for the Council of Owners can introduce themselves here ahead of the AGM – a simple way for the community to get to know who's putting their hand up.

About this page

Each year, owners can stand for election to the Council of Owners (COO) at the AGM. Before the meeting, it helps to know a little about the people interested in the role – what they care about and what they'd bring.

This page is a community noticeboard for exactly that. If you're considering standing, you're welcome to add a short bio so other owners can get to know you.

This is not a formal nomination. Putting your bio here is just an introduction to the community. The official nomination process is separate and runs through the Strata Manager – adding your details here doesn't nominate you, and you don't need a bio here to stand.

Owner-resident

I have been an owner in the Precinct for the past six years. For four of those years, l served as a member of the Precinct Sub-Committee, supporting the Council of Owners on matters relating to the residential operations of Stage 2.

Over the past year, l have continued this commitment as a member of the Council of Owners, working on behalf of all residents

I bring strong experience in financial control, which directly supports the effective management of the strata. During my time on the council, I have applied these skills to review the strata budget prepared by the strata Manager; to ensure that there is a clear and sustainable plan for income and expenditure, assess the realism of financial forecasts to guide decision-making, monitor monthly income and expenditure against budget, identify issues early, and discuss them with the COO and strata manager, and ensure that they are resolved

My focus has been on maintaining financial transparency, strengthening oversight and ensuring that the strata company is positioned for stable and long-term managment.

Owner-resident

I've been a Stage 2 residential owner since October 2024. I'm putting my hand up because I believe my experience in business and accounting processes would benefit the role of COO and contribute to the continued betterment of the operations of the Precinct for everyone.

I've been a small business owner and operator for over 35 years, with extensive experience understanding the operations of large commercial shopping centres and buildings with variable outgoings budgets – which in principle are very similar to strata operations. I also have an extensive accounting background, having been financial controller for a large IT company for over seven years.

I am happy for anyone to contact me directly to ask any questions: ‪+61 409 992 806‬.

Owner-resident

I'm an owner-resident here, a husband and uncle, and health-and-fitness focused. In the last 20 years of my work life I've grown and sold several of my own companies, as well as holding C-suite positions in mulitple geographies, so my days are largely spent doing the things a Council role actually needs: listening, bringing people together, and turning ideas into action. I'd describe myself as calm, organised and collaborative.

I'm also a contributing member of the group behind a lot of the community projects, such as the Precinct Hub site you're reading on now, the Noticeboard newsletter, and the resident WhatsApp community. The aim with all of it has been simple: get the right information into people's hands and make living here a bit easier. Along the way I've spent a fair bit of time in the weeds of how this building actually runs, from inductions to how levies, utilities and strata processes fit together.

I don't see this role as volunteering. I see it as taking on an unpaid job with a clear purpose: to work for the benefit of the whole building and community. That will sometimes mean making difficult decisions for long-term positive outcomes, and for that I'll need owners' input and their trust.

My approach is straightforward: structured decision-making, consultative but decisive communication, transparency as the default, and a community-first mindset. I believe in doing things properly and openly – owners deserve to understand what's being decided on their behalf and why (before it is decided), and to feel genuinely heard when they raise something. One of my aims is to keep pushing towards a genuinely inclusive community that leans into the collective knowledge of residents, ideally through an active subcommittee, so anyone who wants to contribute has a clear way in and the Council can draw on the experience already sitting in the building.

Happy to chat with any owner before the AGM – you can reach me via WhatsApp.
