Using and checking the card

Use what suits your business

Use the quickest check that suits the offer. Look for the moving spectrum sheen, scan the QR code for an Active or Inactive result, or use the stable card number for your own loyalty purposes. The result shows only Active or Inactive. No business app or account is required.

1

Quick visual check

The card has a spectrum sheen that shifts as the phone moves. A screenshot stays still, so scan the QR code if there is any doubt.

Use case

The resident rate at a bar, restaurant or café. No equipment needed.

2

Scan the card

The code on the back opens a live verification result on any smartphone. No separate app is needed.

Use case

Confirm whether the card is currently Active or Inactive before applying an offer.

3

Card number for loyalty

The card back shows the holder’s name and a stable card number. You may use that number as a reference in your own loyalty program.

Use case

Recognise repeat customers without needing a Precinct Perks business account.

Frequently asked questions

A simple way to participate

What type of offers can we provide?

Anything legal and related to your business. The offer must provide a benefit or incentive to Precinct Perks cardholders beyond your publicly available offers. It may match an offer you provide to another closed group.

Is there a limit on the number of offers?

No. You can provide as many relevant offers as you like.

How can offers be communicated to Precinct Perks holders?

Through the Precinct Perks site and the Precinct Noticeboard newsletter. Send through changes when you want an offer updated or removed.

Is there a contract or fee?

No. Precinct Perks is a free community initiative. Businesses participate voluntarily and can come or go. Published offers still need to be accurate and lawful while they are available.

What happens after we apply?

PCG reviews the business and proposed offer for relevance, clarity and community value. You will hear from us if anything needs clarification before an offer is listed.
